GRAN MORAINE PINOT NOIR
Pinot Noir
750ml
Oregon,
United States
Pairs well with Beef , Lamb , Poultry , Deer
$66.99
This red wine offers aromas of dark cherries, antique rose and earth. The palate opens with notes of red fruit and mineral, accentuated by firm acidity and a generous mid-palate. Our Pinot Noir was crafted from the fruit grown on both our Gran Moraine Vineyard and our Winery Estate Vineyard. Both sites are located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and contain some of the oldest marine sedimentary based soils in the Willamette Valley, producing wines with nuanced fruit and earth characteristics. The fruit was picked at a point to best express the profoundness of the site and the vintage. At the winery, the fruit was held overnight in our cold room to chill at 42 degrees Fahrenheit before being carefully hand-sorted and gravity fed into open top tanks. Approximately 25% of the fruit was left intact for whole cluster fermentation, then aged for 9 months in 39% new French oak.
